Back in the fall of 2010, I caught this action between a snake and it’s predator, the Great Blue Heron. The video is actually the first one I had taken with my Canon 7D so it won’t win any awards. 🙂 I was not set up to hold the camera still and the bird was quite far away. I believe I was using a 400mm lens and a 1.4TC. Video quality was also reduced when I converted the file to avi to reduce the file size.
Despite these ‘issues’, the action is quite amazing, especially after the 1:15 mark–so skip to this point if you want. Watch closely to see what the snake does to not become lunch.
