Adult male Common Yellowthroats are known for their distinct black face masks. This young male shows signs of the formation of the mask. Maybe the shot I get next April at this location will be of this same bird! Between now and then, the bird will have flown to Mexico (or further) and back. This fellow was very cooperative to land on this excellent perch for me.
