Barn Swallow Portrait

Barn Swallow Portrait

The most widely distributed and abundant swallow in the world, the Barn Swallow.   I captured him at camera level on May 21, 2014, at the Ridgefield NWR.    Canon 5D Mark III, 1/1250, f8, ISO 640, 500mm.

Gorgeous!!! Love the contrast of shimmer on his head and wing top and muted on bottom of wing! Great photograph!

Thank you, Christy, for viewing and for commenting! It’s wonderful to know you are picking up on the details. I also liked the details in the dark gray feathers. Common but amazing bird!
