Great Horned Owlet Hanging Upside-Down (37 sec.)

I came across this Great Horned Owlet on May 2, 2012, at the Ridgefield NWR.  After taking many still shots I decided to turn on my DSLR’s video function to get some footage.  I had my 400mm lens attached to the camera and holding the camera still was virtually impossible (didn’t have time to grab my tripod!)   So when I uploaded the video to You Tube I used their stabilizing tool to smooth out the jerkiness from the footage.  It helped a lot and at least makes the video watchable.   Pay little attention to the soundtrack as it is just me and this other fellow talking as I’m recording.  The video is best viewed at 1080p resolution (click the settings wheel) and full frame.  If you read my blog, you may have already seen this one!

My still shot of the owl is located here:  http://dennisdavenportphotography.com/galleries/bird-gallery/just-hangin-round/
