On a Jan. 21, 2015, trip to the Ridgefield NWR, I was testing out my 500mm lens with a 2x extender attached on some ducks in the distance, when this Ring-necked Duck probably only 25 feet away in the slough next to the road starts taking a bath. I swung the lens around and fired, barely getting the duck in the frame. I like the blurred feathers and the water patterns showing action, while the duck is looking straight at me.
