A Feb. 24, 2020, shot of a flapping female Bufflehead taken at the Ridgefield NWR. Buffleheads were quite numerous as I spotted at least 3 females and 3 males in the same general area. They are somewhat skittish and tend to stay on the far side of the water. Hence, a heavy crop on this one, shot from my vehicle.
