April 23, 2015, at Ridgefield, Wa., I noticed a Red-winged Blackbird repeatedly diving at a Great Egret, which was apparently hunting a little too close to the blackbird’s nest. After a minute or two, the Egret decided it wasn’t worth it and flew away.
