This fellow seems to be taking the afternoon off from being majestic. Taken Oct. 28, 2016, at the Ridgefield NWR at several hundred feet away, this bird caught my eye as he posed in the fashion known as the “Satellite Dish.” I had always thought this methodology of drying off the wings was limited to the Great Blue Heron, but apparently not. This bird appears quite relaxed with that left foot hanging off the branch.
