This magnificent creature let me take many images today. Only the upper half was clear of branches and besides, the eyes of this gorgeous bird deserve to be front and center of this photograph. This is not the same owl I posted a shot of on June 12. That was the mama owl and she can be identified by the spot in her left eye. Today’s owl’s eyes are perfectly clear and it may even be one of the offspring of the mama owl from last year. Taken at the Ridgefield NWR, June 24, 2015.
