I was out shooting at the Ridgefield NWR, Aug. 4, 2015, and pulled up near marker #11. Four young Killdeer were walking around on the road–they were not shy at all. I stopped about 20 feet short of the Killdeer group and decided to open my truck door and lay down on the gravel road behind the door with the camera on the ground, shooting underneath the car door. All four birds stayed right there and let me shoot. This one gave me the profile pose.

Good to get a ground-level shot Dennis.
Thanks, Tony! Would love to get water level shots of ducks but it’s almost impossible at our refuge under the rules.
